Dubai, UAE – Superintendent of Police A.N.M. Maruf Abdullah from the Bangladesh Police has brought pride to the nation by taking part in one of the world’s most prestigious police leadership initiatives — the Police Innovation and Leadership (PIL) Diploma — organised by Dubai Police in partnership with the Rochester Institute of Technology, Dubai.
Selected among 54 top-ranking officers from 38 countries, Supt. Abdullah joined the programme’s second edition, which focused on advanced and technology-driven policing strategies. The curriculum explored digital transformation, artificial intelligence, blockchain applications in forensic science, and modern risk management, arming participants with tools to tackle emerging global security threats.
“This was more than a training course. It was a life-changing opportunity,” Supt. Abdullah reflected. “The insights I gained can be directly applied to combating cybercrime and financial fraud back home.”
One of his standout contributions was a final project aimed at raising public awareness about the risks associated with cryptocurrency-related crimes, a growing challenge in the digital era. The initiative underscored his ability to simplify complex cyber issues for effective public communication.

The programme also integrated leadership development and well-being training, enhancing strategic decision-making skills and reinforcing the importance of mental and physical balance in law enforcement.
Expressing pride in representing Bangladesh on an international platform, Abdullah emphasised the value of exchanging knowledge with global policing leaders. He also encouraged law enforcement agencies worldwide to study Dubai Police’s innovative model, which combines smart city systems, data analytics, and AI-driven surveillance to build trust, transparency, and community satisfaction.
“Dubai Police is not only building a secure future for its own city — it’s inspiring police forces across the globe, including ours,” he said.
Supt. Abdullah extended gratitude to the Government of the United Arab Emirates and Dubai Police for the opportunity, adding that the knowledge gained would fuel positive, tech-driven transformations within Bangladesh’s policing system.
