Facebook Working on AR-Innovation Through Smart Glasses!

The purpose of this memorandum is to release smart glass within 2021. Mark Zuckerberg announced that Luxottica and Facebook would be going to have a remarkable journey over the virtual reality market. Though the full features of the smart glasses have not been publicly released, it is not to be classified as AR devices, according to Facebook. Ray-Ban and Luxottica

Ray-Ban got the license to sell it on their tag, authenticated product. Apart from these, these glasses get no integrated display but may feature a voice-assistant system. 

These glasses will operate when you pair them with a smartphone. The officials predicted that the pair will be very similar to Amazon Echo Frames or Snap Spectacles.

This prime collaboration with Facebook, Rocco Basilico proudly appreciated at the memorandum conference, who is the CEO of Oliver Peoples- a subsidiary of Luxottica. He also added, ‘Combining a brand that is loved and worn by millions of consumers around the globe with technology that has brought the world closer together, we can reset expectations around wearables. Back in September, Ray-Ban Films- a YouTube channel from Ray-Ban have published a teaser video of the upcoming smart glass project. 

Project Aria

In the meantime, Mark also announced that they were going to release Project Aria. Whoever doesn’t know what the project is- Project Aria is a research device that is based on regular glasses. It will help us building software such as a live map of 3-dimensional spaces for future AR devices. 

According to the officials from Facebook, the employees, contractors from Facebook will wear smart glasses of Project Aria as these will not up for sale. 

Moreover, the device sensors will actively capture the video and audio of the users. Also, users can enable tracking options and location information. Users can use the on-device computer power for encrypting and storing data.
