Each year, tech titans from the GAFAM group generate staggering profits, with their net incomes totaling hundreds of billions of dollars. However, when you break down these astronomical figures to a shorter timescale of net per second, the numbers become even more striking.
According to data presented by Jemlit.com, Google’s parent company, Alphabet, leads the group with a net income of $3,586 per second in Q2. Here’s how much other tech titans made in the same period.
Alphabet and Microsoft in a Tight Race at Roughly $3,500 per Second, Amazon Earns $1,200 Less
The GAFAM group, Google (Alphabet), Apple, Facebook (Meta), Amazon, and Microsoft, has seen an astronomical rise in profits over the years, driven by surging demand for digital services and cutting-edge technologies. While all five companies report massive earnings, the competition between Apple and Alphabet was always particularly intense. But that changed in Q2 2025, with Microsoft edging closer to Alphabet than ever and leaving the iPhone maker behind.
According to Statista and the official company data, Alphabet remained the most profitable company in the GAFAM group, reporting a net income of $28.2 billion in Q2, up 19% year-over-year. This figure is even more impressive when broken down into smaller time scales. Based on its Q2 profit, Google’s parent company earned nearly $215,200 per minute and an astonishing $3,586 per second in the three months ended June.
While the second spot among the most profitable tech titans was usually reserved for Apple, that wasn’t the case in Q2. Microsoft trailed Alphabet by a slim 3% with $27.2 billion in three-month net income, which translates to a whopping $3,459 per second.
Although other tech giants fell short of the $3,500 mark, their per-second profits were still staggering. Apple’s net income jumped 9.3% in a year to $23.4 billion, translating to $2,976 per second, roughly $500 less than Alphabet and Microsoft. While Amazon and Meta were closer to $2,300 per second, the two tech titans saw the highest net income growth in the group, surging by 34% and 36% year-over-year, respectively.
Together, The Five Tech Titans Make Roughly $880,000 Each Minute
While each of these five tech giants makes jaw-dropping revenue and net income, their combined total is on another level. According to Statista and the official company data, Google (Alphabet), Apple, Facebook (Meta), Amazon, and Microsoft collectively make a mind-blowing $880,000 every minute or around $14,700 per second.
Put into everyday terms, the five tech titans rack up $1 million in 68 seconds, $100 million in an hour and 54 minutes, and $1 billion in just 18 hours and 56 minutes. That translates into $1.27 billion per day or $8.87 billion per week.
Also, that’s enough money to buy roughly 15 flagship smartphones every second, a $70,000 car every 4.8 seconds, or a $500,000 home every 34 seconds. In payroll terms, the five tech titans make a $50,000 annual salary every 3.4 seconds and a $100,000 salary every 6.8 seconds.
